Manolis Tsantakis lives and works in Palaikastro, a small village in Crete, Greece.
His enthralled tentatives in the art of photography began in the early 1980s as a hobby and a passion that remains as unquenched, unbridled and creative as ever.
He studied his art at AKTO educational group of art, the only school of photography at the time, and then attended courses and seminars on applied and creative photography in London, as well as on all existing printing techniques for colour and B/W photography.
He has worked as professional photographer in various studios of advertising photography in Athens, collaborated with the Greek National Tourism Organization for the creation of photographic material aimed at the tourist promotion of Greece, as well as with many businesses and hotels all around the country for promotional purposes.
From time to time, he offers tutorials and holds seminars about art photography to various photography groups and sits as judge in national and international photography contests.
For his work in photography, he has been honoured several times with international awards and distinctions by the International Federation of Art Photography (FIAP) and the Greek Photography Association (ΕΦΕ). He has also represented Greece in international fora and photography festivals. He has held several exhibitions in Greece and various European countries, China and the USA, and his work has been published in numerous international publications and photographic albums. He has also published several photo albums (Coffee table books) with his personal works!
